Eastern Michigan defeats Texas-Arlington 74-69
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Raven Lee scored a career-high 38 points, including five 3-pointers to lead Eastern Michigan to a 74-69 victory over Texas-Arlington Saturday night.
Lee, a redshirt freshman, was 12 of 15 from the field. He did not miss a shot from the floor in the second half and was a perfect 5-of-5 from beyond the arc. Eastern Michigan (5-0) is off to its best start since 1996-97.
Texas-Arlington (2-5) went on an 8-2 run to pull within three with 2:22 remaining before forcing the Eagles to the line. The Mavericks would get within three points twice more, but the Eagles were 5 of 8 from the line in the closing minutes.
Texas-Arlington was led by Brandon Edwards, who scored a career-high 30 points and had a game-high 13 rebounds. Edwards now has five double-doubles this season. Reger Dowell added 22 points with four 3-pointers.
