Fort Wayne cruises past IUPUI 84-60
INDIANAPOLIS -- Luis Jacobo had 13 points and nine rebounds, Steve Forbes added 12 and nine, and Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne cruised on Saturday to its 20th win of the season, 84-60 over Indiana-Purdue Indianapolis.
Jacobo and Forbes were joined in double figures by Joe Reed (12), Michael Kibiloski (11), Pierre Bland (10) and Mo Evans (10).
IPFW (20-9, 8-4 Summit League) never trailed and led 36-25 at halftime. The Mastodons shot 21 for 29 in the second half, extending their largest lead to 27.
The Mastodons shot 35 of 54 overall and 5 of 10 from 3-point range, but just 9 of 19 from the free-throw line.
Fort Wayne had a 39-21 rebounding advantage over IUPUI (6-23, 1-11) which lost for the 11th time in 12 games.
Marcellus Barksdale had 13 points to lead the Jaguars, who struggled with just 2-of-18 3-point shooting. Khufu Najee and Donovan Gibbs added 11 points apiece.
