Colgate holds off Lafayette 75-68
EASTON, Pa. -- Austin Tillotson scored 16 points and Murphy Burnatowski added 15 more to lead Colgate to a 75-68 win over Lafayette on Monday night.
Colgate (8-12, 2-7 Patriot League) took the lead midway through the first half on a Clayton Graham layup that made it 16-14 with 12:39 left and never trailed again.
Damon Sherman-Newsome got his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Luke Roh added 12 points for the Raiders, who notched their second-straight conference win.
Both teams shot comparably from the field, but Colgate held a nearly 4-to-1 advantage in points from the penalty stripe- hitting 23 of 27 compared to Lafayette's 6 of 10.
Lafayette (4-16, 0-9) was led by Joey Ptasinski's 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including five from beyond the arc. Bryce Scott contributed 12 points and Nick Lindner had 11.
