DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- Eric Gilchrese scored 20 points, and senior forward Mike Christensen had 17 as New Hampshire beat Quinnipiac 77-70 on Sunday.
New Hampshire (3-1) led by as many as 12 points in the second half before Quinnipiac (1-3) cut the deficit to 74-70 on a 3-pointer by Evan Baker with 20 seconds left.
The Wildcats were able to get a dunk and a free throw at the other end from freshman Dane DiLiegro to seal the win.
New Hampshire shot 50 percent from the field. The Wildcats led by 10 at the half, 40-30, after going on a 13-4 run just before intermission.
Quinnipiac got 25 points each from Baker and DeMairo Anderson, but only 20 points from the rest of the team.
