After the break, India increased the pressure and score twice in quick succession. Harmanpreet Singh converted his penalty corner opportunity in the 31st minute and then Sukhjeet came up with a solid finish from a close range three minutes later.

Chen Chongcong reduced the deficit in the 36th minute with his dragflick as China showed a bit more on the ball.

India controlled the proceedings in the final quarter after Jugraj Singh netted from a penalty corner chance in the 47 minute and eventually sealed the game.
