Lewis Hamilton hangs out with big cats and Kimi Raikkonen gets married in Tuscany. Here's how the some of the 2016 Formula One grid has been spending their time away from the track during the summer break...

Lewis Hamilton

Fresh from winning his sixth grand prix of the season at Hockenheim and taking a 19-point lead over title rival and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg into the summer break, Hamilton has made the most of his time away from the race circuit.

In the past week he has enjoyed relaxing with family and friends in Barbados and Grenada, which was followed by a trip to New York City. On Tuesday he then paid his latest visit to The Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation in Mexico.

Nico Rosberg

Rosberg said it would take him a couple of days to get over a "c---" race at Hockenheim. Judging by this picture spending time at home is the perfect remedy.

Kimi Raikkonen

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen is another driver who has been making the most of the summer break. The Iceman married partner Minttu Virtanen in Tuscany on Sunday. We assume he knew what he was doing...

Valtteri Bottas

F1's other flying Finn is currently in Rio, supporting his girlfriend and Olympic swimmer Emilia Pikkarainen.

Daniel Ricciardo

The 'Honey Badger' has been hanging out with friends in Los Angeles during the summer shutdown. He shared this photo of his latest ride. It certainly gives the RB12 a run for its money with that paint job...

Max Verstappen

A well deserved break for Verstappen, after notching up one win and four podium finishes since his promotion to the Red Bull team.

Carlos Sainz

New heights for Sainz?

Just chilling!

Jenson Button

Button enjoyed a meal with fellow driver Ricciardo. Presumably they both turned up in style.

Sergio Perez

There is no rest for some, however. Perez continues to train hard ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of the month.

Nico Hulkenberg

Force India teammate Hulkenberg quite literally announced the F1 summer break.

Felipe Nasr

Nasr has been in his native Brazil, supporting the nation's football team at the 2016 Olympics.
