South Africa boss Rassie Erasmus has brought Kurt-Lee Arendse back into his Springboks starting XV for Saturday's third Test, in the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series with the All Blacks at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Arendse and Cheslin Kolbe had both picked up minor knocks in the first RGR Test -- a 33-16 loss at Ellis Park. Initially, it seemed the former was set to start the second in Cape Town ahead of the latter before Erasmus changed his mind after Kolbe recovered ahead of schedule.
This time, both make the starting XV, but Kolbe shifts to fullback to compensate for the unavailability of Damian Willemse -- who has yet to recover from a hamstring injury sustained on Saturday. Arendse partners Ethan Hooker on the wings.
Arendse aside, Erasmus has brought in the three front row forwards who were scheduled to start the second Test before a late swap on matchday which saw him instead kick off with the front row personnel initially named on his bench.
The gambit -- which Erasmus attributed to drier weather than expected altering his plans -- proved successful as the Boks won 33-26 to level the series.
However, this time, the Boks are set to start with Ox Nche, Malcolm Marx and Wilco Louw - barring another surprise. Deon Fourie, Gerhard Steenekamp and Thomas du Toit have been named on the bench after starting in Cape Town.
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu keeps his place as the starting flyhalf, with Manie Libbok on the bench.
Erasmus has once again opted for a 6-2 or 5-3 split among his replacements, with Andre Esterhuizen the wild card who can be used in a variety of positions.
Saturday's Test will be the last of the tour hosted on South African soil, but the RGR series will conclude with a fourth Test on neutral ground in Baltimore, Maryland on September 12.
