16.6 Oh, out of nowhere, Asitha Fernando has knocked Jaiswal out! This is beautiful from Asitha, getting a length ball to swerve in and take an inside edge, with Jaiswal playing all around it. The Sri Lanka players give Jaiswal a send-off as he walks off, possibly some payback for his banter with Dickwella in the last game, but that's a big wicket for Sri Lanka. Jaiswal turned back and got into a bit of a confrontation with Asitha as well before DDS intervenes and calms things down. Almost a bit of pushing and shoving there 66/2

10.4 gone, and Kumara has struck with a not particularly good ball. Shortish, wide, and it's there for the cut but Rahul ends up top-edging it into Dickwella's upward-pointing gloves. Seemed to be leaning back rather than stepping back, and kind of hurried into the shot, so maybe this wasn't quite short enough for the cut? 37/1

76.2 Through him! Nuwantha finally gets a wicket after toiling away! Quicker and flatter and it turns away. Padikkal went back to play this one but maybe this was a tad too full for that, and it spins away to go past his outside edge and hit his off stump. Padikkal walk off, acknowledging the cheers and applaud from the crowd. Another fine knock from India's No. 3. Even gets a few pats on the back from Dinusha and DDS 281/4

51.5 Oh, he almost drops it but grabs it in the end that's a wicket out of absolutely nowhere! Inspired bowling change, and Gill is gone! Short and wide delivery and Gill again has a swipe at it and this time he gets a thick outside edge. Dickwella makes a mess of it, spilling it onto his chest but as the ball pops back out, he's able to grab it with his second attempt. After a very calm and patient innings, Gill falls to a nothing shot 186/3

112.1 Pant falls first ball after lunch! Dances down the track but doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball as Nuwantha bowls it flat on a good length outside off, and he can't get height or distance on it. Hits it flat to long-off's right and it's a comfortable catch. Just the start Sri Lanka would have wanted to the session! 419/7

84.1 Oh, Jadeja leaves and hears his stumps getting hit! On a length outside off and Jadeja shoulders arms, but the ball jags in and pings the top of off! It was a very good innings so far from the experienced Jadeja, but maybe he just misjudged that one! Asitha gets some reward with the new ball, right towards the end of a difficult day for his team 296/5

86.5 Leading edge, and it's a good diving catch by the second slip fielder! Back of length delivery angles in from outside off and Saransh closes his bat face early. It pops off the leading edge to his left and to second slip, and fellow debutant Kamil Mishara puts in a dive to take the catch. The extra bounce did him in there 307/6

124.4 Oh, has he nicked that? Finger goes up immediately! Jayasuriya finally has a wicket in this match. It's on a length outside off, holds its line, and Suthar just pushes at it and gets a thin edge that Dickwella gobbles up. Suthar put up a strong resistance, but he has to go now 458/8

136.1 Surely that's out? yes it is. But Siraj reviews it, and then starts to walk off after speaking to Jurel. First ball he faces after Jurel's century, he tries to hit it out of the ground. Misses it altogether and is hit plumb in front by this arm ball on a length outside off. And that's crashing into the middle of middle stump, as per ball-tracking, and Siraj has to go, having safely shepherded Jurel to his century 489/9

1.2 oh, what a catch that is from Jaiswal!!! And a superb delivery from Prasidh, kicks at Udara and straightens after angling in towards off stump. Has to play, and he can only get a thick edge that Jaiswal grabs one-handed following a full-stretch dive to his right at third slip. Spectacular 1/1

9.3 Prasidh breaks through! It's angle and the short length along with the pace that combines to do the trick. He bangs it in at 142kmh outside off, the ball takes off and is nearly in front of Mishara's face, he is forced to bring his bat in front and gloves it behind, not in control at all 35/3

2.6 that's the most raucous appeal I've heard since the fourth innings of the 1999 Chennai Test, and Ahsan Raza has given it! Prabath has reviewed, however. Another inswinging arm ball, and this one's much fuller than the first one. Prabath looks to get forward and defend, but his front leg comes in the way of his bat. Pad before bat, he's struck in front, and the umpire's doubt must have been whether it's going on to hit leg stump, and ball-tracking returns an umpire's call verdict. Just clipping leg, it says, and Prabath has to walk back. Left-arm spinner done in by a left-arm spinner's sleight of hand 8/2

Seems like it comes in with the arm and Sooriyabandara, trying to dab it behind point, does not have the room to work with. May not have been as short as he thought too, and he jams it off the inside edge. The ball deflects off the back thigh and then trickles onto the stumps. Tries to pull this from outside off but just cannot get a hold of it. Perhaps a bit of extra bounce, and the lack of control in the stroke means that Jadeja has the simplest of chances at mid wicket. India are pumped; Kamindu, a picture of disappointment! 122/4

34.5 nicked and gone! Suthar finds his length, and he finds the wicket too! Beautifully bowled. Fizzed in on a length on off. Drifts in and then enough grip in the surface to spin away. DDS is not to the pitch of the ball, and the spin means the ball kisses the outside edge. Seems to ricochet off Jurel's gloves first but Rahul, at slip having two bites at the cherry to his right, does the rest. Big, big wicket! 137/5

89.4 taken at slip! A far more rewarding wicket for Jain, of Sri Lanka's best batter of the series. Full just outside off, Dinusha drives gently and only manages a thick edge which Rahul pouches easily at slip. Gill goes across to congratulate Jain and leads the team off 290/10

45.3 strangled down leg, and Dickwella falls too! A fairly innocuous shortish delivery, bowled at a little under 126kph and sliding down leg. Nothing ball and a nothing shot in the end. Dickwella looks to glance it fine but gets too faint a tickle. Jurel lunges forward to his right and does the rest. Dickwella departs for a duck, and SL in a heap of trouble now! 173/7

68.2 straight to mid off, and Suthar has bagged another! Good bowling and good captaincy too, it must be added. Floaty and full on middle and leg. Nuwantha skips down and tries to tonk this over mid off, who has been kept up. Gets too close to the ball, though, meaning he cannot get under it fully. Saransh gobbles up the chance, and Nuwantha has to go! 230/8

86.5 excellent diving catch by Jurel and that's the first Test wicket for Saransh Jain! He pitches it up again, this time outside off and Kumara goes for another big hit, but this time miscues for a leading edge towards point where Jurel puts in a full length dive to his right to get his fingers under the ball just in time. A fighting stay from Kumara for as many as 58 balls 288/9

3.3 and Siraj gets first strike! He's not being bowling quick at all, this one was at 129.3kmh, but he absolutely nails this bouncer to create a dismissal. The short ball was rising towards Udara's throat, he awkwardly tries to put it away with a swivel from bottom to top instead of a horizontal shot, and ends up giving a catch to deep fine leg, where Saransh Jain takes it with a tumble 5/1

14.5 rapped on the front pad, and the finger goes up. Reviewed promptly by Mishara! Zipped in on a length outside off. Pitches (maybe not in the rough) but spins back nevertheless. Mishara looks for the sweep and misses. Impact seems to be in line. The only thing that could save him here might be height. No bat involved. Time for Ball Tracking and...it shows the ball to be clipping the top of leg stump. Umpire's Call, and Mishara has to go! 63/2

60.3 stumped by a mile, and no need for DRS this time! A proper rush of blood! Oh wow. What a moment in the contest. Suthar pre-empts the batter charging down, and he hangs it up way outside off. Sooriyabandara is hell-bent on advancing and is too far away from the ball in the end. Cannot reach it and Pant takes off the bails with Sooriyabandara stranded. The 26-year-old batter is livid with himself, but he has to walk off, and India now barging this door down! 212/5

43.1 excellent catch by captain Gill and Prasidh's short ball plan works again. Big, big wicket for India as it breaks the century stand. Mendis swiped at the short ball and skied it just beyond the 30-yard circle. Jaiswal was too far back to get under it so Gill sprints back from square leg and dives in the end to complete a very tough catch. Fighting knock from Mendis, although he'll rue not making it a big one 178/3

58.5 bat-pad, and gully accepts the offering with glee! DDS cannot believe it! Dragged down on middle and off, and there is nothing much happening with the ball as such. DDS tries to work it to leg but all he manages is an inside edge onto his pad. The ball then balloons up and Padikkal, under the lid at gully, does the rest. DDS has to trudge off, and India have a wicket against the run of play! 209/4

64.2 smashed on the front pad, and the bowling change works a charm almost immediately! But hang on, Dickwella wants to go upstairs now! Speared in on a fullish length on off. Comes in with the arm and Dickwella, trying to defend with bat and pad next to each other, fails to get the first contact. Off the front pad and then onto bat, meaning Ball Tracking will be key now. It comes up and...shows the ball to be crashing into leg. Three reds, and Dickwella has to walk back. Takes a review along with him too! 218/6

104.4 Suthar breaks through in the first over after lunch! Nuwantha edges one to slip! Lovely bowling from Suthar, tossing it up full around middle and leg, and it spins back across Nuwantha and bounces too as Nuwantha presses forward in defence. Hits the outside edge towards the top of the bat and it's a simple catch for Jurel! Big moment in the game. 330/7

116.3 Oh, Jadeja gets the breakthrough! Jurel with a sharp catch. Jayasuriya, so solid so far, looks to drive this full ball outside off that's spinning away and gets a thick edge that Jurel is quick to react to it arriving to his left. Good catch as Jayasuriya loses his patience. Change in bowling works for India 355/8

144.4 taken at short leg! Kumara's long vigil comes to an end. It was a length ball that Kumara looked to play off the back foot. He got an inside edge onto the pad and to the right of short leg where Jaiswal took a diving one-handed catch 402/9
