5.20pm So, the series ends with India 1-0 up, but they know they've missed out on crucial WTC points. However, some individual performances will give them a lot of confidence, especially from the likes of Devdutt Padikkal, Manav Suthar and Dhruv Jurel. For Sri Lanka, they came back from behind to salvage a draw in Colombo and with the performances they saw from Asitha Fernando, Sonal Dinusha and Pasindu Sooriyabandara, they will feel their team stands in good stead going into the future. Shubman Gill: "[On what he could have done differently] Honestly, nothing. You field for so many overs over three days, we did everything we could, but they played really well. Their batters showed a lot of skill and had a little bit of luck as well. [On rating the side] I think lot of positives for us. Also, learning from the opposition. They were under a lot of pressure and the way they came back was tremendous. Lot of positives for us. DDP was brilliant, Manav was really good, so was KL. Fast bowlers also did everything they could. Very exciting times for us. Important for us to be consistent on and off the field with our preparation and performance and how we go about things. [On Suthar] Everything impressed me about him. How consistent he is, how he releases the ball, and how it goes off his wrist and fingers. Very pleasing bowler to watch. He's going to be very crucial bowler for us. Yes, we are going to New Zealand, so that'll be a good series for us and then a good home season. We'll keep believing and hopefully we'll make it to the WTC final. Like I said, SL played brilliantly. In hindsight you can think [about the follow-on], but you can only talk about these things in hindsight. You take the best decision you can in the moment and some thing didn't go our way. But it was a brilliant game and I think Test cricket won today."

Devdutt Padikkal is the Player of the Series: "It's great, but it would have been better if we got the win in this game. I think the two pitches were quite similar. Was pretty slow here but at the end of the day the batters got better at playing on such surfaces and that showed over the last couple of days. It takes a lot of clarity. You need to have clear plans. Everyone came with their own plans and the way the batsmen applied themselves showed out there. [On being away from the Test team and coming back] You want to play for the country so you keep working hard and try to help your team-mates out and take your opportunities when you get them. It's important that you forget that as fast as possible and move on to the next ball and that's what I tried to do. Honestly, I'm just happy to score runs. It doesn't matter what position. It's important that the team wins and as long as I'm contributing to that, I am happy. We are a very young side. Important that we continue to learn. Everyone is really hungry and looking forward to doing that and getting better."

Sonal Dinusha is the POTM, and he receives his award to raucous applause. Here's what he has to say: "First of all, I should mention who helped me get here. i want to mention our coaching staff and my school coach and provincial coach and family as well. It's really about the preparation at Galle and here, I had an idea about the turning pitches so I practised for that. [On batting with the tail] I would like to mention, the tailenders batted really well. It helped me get runs as well. I tried to do my best, reading the situation. I am really happy about that [getting three hundreds]. When the team is down, I wanted to get runs for the team so I am happy I was able to do that. Getting runs against India is a pleasure to as a player."

Dhananjaya de Silva: "It's all about finding the talent. I think the selectors and coach gave me that opportunity to get the youngsters in and let them really go there and do the job for the country. [On injured players coming back] It's a good headache to have, three guys who were playing and have to come back will find it tough to get in. [On regrets] Maybe in the second innings I should have batted longer. That's the point where they got back in the match."

Harsh: "@Celine i would definitely add Lahiru because at that time Sonam was really exhausted "

Chinmay Jariwal: "I don't think decision of enforcing the follow-on was wrong one. If India would have batted again, then they would have given Sri Lankan team to play at least three or four sessions and may be less considering the weather. And they would have survived that many sessions since they survived almost 6 sessions in reality. It is just that pitch did not behave as expected and Sri Lanka batted much better than expected."

4.40pm Well, Dinusha walks off acknowledging the applause, and the applause he does deserve. Dhananjaya is the first out of the dressing room to come out and congratulate him on a phenomenal effort. Two centuries in a game where Sri Lanka were forced to follow on, and three in the series, and it's helped Sri Lanka save a match that they seemed destined to lose not too long ago. They began the day four wickets down, with not that many runs ahead of India, but Dinusha batted through the day, following up on Pasindu Sooriyabandara's efforts yesterday. He hit a ton yesterday, and he's hit one today, but more than his runs, it's his resilience today that did the trick for Sri Lanka. India tried and tried, but could not break through Dinusha's defence, as Sri Lanka's latest rising star in Test cricket showed his prowess yet again. Keshara Nuwantha showed his abilities with the bat too, and the whole tail did well to offer resilience too. India, of course, were weakened arguably with a niggle to Siraj that meant he could bowl only 15 overs, and a lot of them while he was hurt. Jadeja also had a slight niggle in the middle. All this on a day when the now-retired Test legend R Ashwin is bowling the European T20 Premier League. But none of that can take anything away from Sri Lanka's brilliant efforts with the bat today, that gave the Colombo faithful plenty to cheer on.
