Postscript: Brendon McCullum has been talking to the media, and after trailing the prospect of Stokes and Atkinson returning for Trent Bridge, he's been more definitive with the written media:
"Firstly Ben will be back, we'll name the squad this afternoon. Ben will be back and be captain. Everyone is excited about that. My view has not changed. I've been speaking to Ben every single day since the incident. My assessment was that I was worried about him. To see him go and play some cricket and look like he was enjoying it is really positive. Not going to divulge confidential conversations. Look forward to seeing him in a few days."
So, there we go...
12.12pm Well, huge credit to New Zealand, that was an exceptional team performance, lit up by Phillips, Nicholls, Blundell and of course Henry, but backed up by crucial support from the likes of Ravindra, Jamieson, O'Rourke and Smith. England were callow and exposed at the crunch moment at almost every opportunity. There were some flickers of resistance from Root and Brook in the second innings, as well as Fisher and Archer with the ball. But it's going to be all change for Trent Bridge by the sounds of it. We will be back on it before you know it!
From Miller, Shashwat, Muthu, Venkat and the team, thanks for tuning in! See you in Nottingham on Thursday!
Gareth: "Commentary says Henry's haul is the best for a New Zealand bowler against England in Tests. I assumed the previous best was Richard Hadlee, but I'm astounded to learn it was Dion Nash!" I was there for that Test as well. In the crowd at Lord's in 1994, and even patted him on the back as we all invaded the field after Paul Taylor and Steve Rhodes had poked England to an unlikely draw.
Tom Latham: "Been a fantastic week, a week of moments, doing things for a bit longer, did it fantastically this week. First innings, built a few partnerships, Phillips and Jamieson, third innings with Henry [Nicholls] and Rachin... understood it wouldn't be easy on that surface, but top of off, old-school cricket. From GP's point of view, we know the talent he has got. On the first evening, Jofra's hostile spell, showed his ticker and method... and Henry, in a different role, but second-most Tests in our group, played really well to put the team in the position we were in.
"Matt Henry, our method, hit top of off repetitively and keep asking questions on a surface with variable bounce. First and second innings, built pressure with dot-balls then got the wickets, and Tom Blundell, standing up for whole innings to keep guys in their crease."
Joe Root: "Credit to New Zealand, a number of occasions when game was in the balance. They won those moments. Still 1-1 going to Trent Bridge. I enjoyed coming back into that space and working with Baz, and a great opportunity for the young guys coming in. Need to be more switched on in the field. Miss eight chances is going to hurt you. Got to be smarter and better. Do that for longer we'll be brilliant. For a number of guys to be at the front of their careers and give a good account of themselves [is great].
"Credit to Phillips during a fiery spell from Jofra. Good lesson for our batters, recognise a scenario, get through a tough spell and reap the rewards the following morning. Bring that to the fore and we'll become a better team for it. You lose at things when you lose, what did we do wrong. Opposition are allowed to play well. I've been busy and occupied with this job, we'll see what happens over the coming days."
Matt Henry is the Player of the Match: "Didn't expect it to unfold like that, but saved a hot day in the field. Great to come here and get my quota out [after back spasm at Lord's]. All the batters, little moments, ball went soft for Glenn to do his thing. The way the guys applied themselves with the ball was relentless. Stuck at it and nice to get rewards. We tried Tom up at stumps at the Basin [last year]. Guys wanted to walk out and get busy. He was well up for it, can't do it unless someone so good is behind the stumps. I'd rather be effective than look a hero, how do we get the job done and create pressure when it's not offering much? Couldn't have done it without Tom. Such a strong bowling group, Kyle and WO'R coming back from injuries, Nathan Smith... only as good as the strength of your bowling group. First job was to get it done today."
11.54am Well hello again. That escalated quickly, as I have been prone to say in recent days. England began the day with a glimmer of hope and next to no expectation. Well, hope did a runner long before Henry emptied out the rest of Pandora's Box. A stunning six-wicket haul to land the best figures by a New Zealand bowler against England.
So, we're all square going to Trent Bridge later this week. It looks as though Stokes and Atkinson will be back, after this morning's announcement from the ECB...
Oh, and for those of you who were following Option Watch yesterday ... it turns out Option 2 was always on the cards. This was England's last-but-one result against New Zealand, at Hamilton in 2024... uncanny isn't it!
11.48am Henry leads the New Zealand players off, ball in his hand once again just as it was in the first innings. His becoming fit again was crucial to the way this series has now panned out; almost as crucial as Stokes missing this game. Things will change for Nottingham. It looks like Stokes and Atkinson will be back. NZ's quicks will have a short turnaround. Trent Bridge is a happy hunting ground for England too. Here's Miller again for the presentations
