A second bowl game in Puerto Rico has been added to the postseason lineup, the ACC and Sun Belt announced Thursday.
The TransPerfect San Juan Bowl will pair teams from those two conferences at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 16. The game will be the first bowl to be played in Puerto Rico, preempting the Puerto Rico Bowl, which was announced in May and will be played on Dec. 22.
"The ACC is proud to participate in the inaugural TransPerfect San Juan Bowl this December," ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips said in a statement. "This new event will provide a memorable postseason experience for our student-athletes, coaches, and fans, while showcasing ACC football in one of college football's most compelling destinations."
Hiram Bithorn Stadium, primarily a baseball venue, has hosted Major League Baseball games and the World Baseball Classic, including games during the 2026 tournament.
The Puerto Rico Bowl will be played at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón and feature a team from the Mid-American Conference against an opponent from another FBS conference.
