Minnesota will be without leading running back Darius Taylor for Saturday's game against Akron, it was announced.
Taylor, who suffered a lower-body injury against Mississippi State last week, did a medical warm-up pregame and it was determined he won't play.
The senior has rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries this season. He led the Gophers with 670 rushing yards last season.
TJ Thomas and A.J. Turner will likely get the bulk of the carries against Akron.
Starting linebacker Matt Kingsbury also has been ruled out for Saturday's game.
