Texas co-DC Nansen charged with DWI, Sarkisian announces

Texas co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Johnny Nansen has been charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, head coach Steve Sarkisian announced Thursday.

"We had an unfortunate situation [Wednesday] evening," Sarkisian told reporters. "I'm still gathering facts. I'm still monitoring the situation. We're obviously disappointed."

Sarkisian did not say whether Nansen will coach the team for Saturday's game vs. UTSA.

Nansen has been with Texas since the 2024 season.

He was previously the defensive coordinator at Arizona.

The top-ranked Longhorns overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat Ohio State last weekend.
