As their skid to the bottom of the NFC West continued Sunday in a 27-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the St. Louis Rams' drop in the ESPN NFL Power Rankings has also showed no signs of slowing.
In Tuesday's latest ratings, the Rams checked in at No. 28, down two spots from last week's spot at No. 26. The Rams' loss to No. 2 Arizona was their fifth in a row and their third 24-point loss in the past four weeks. No other team in the NFL has even two losses of that margin this season.
It was just a month ago that the Rams had risen to No. 10 in the Power Rankings and teased a possible run toward the postseason. In the time since, the Rams have dropped with each successive loss. The Rams are now tied with San Francisco for last place in the NFC West, and although they have the current tiebreaker over the 49ers, San Francisco is clearly playing better football, having jumped to No. 26 in the Power Rankings.
This week, the Rams host No. 22 Detroit, followed by a Thursday night game against No. 14 Tampa Bay.
