BATON ROUGE, La. -- No. 9 LSU cruised to a 131-22 win over Texas Southern on Thursday night, the largest win in Division I history against a Division I opponent, according to ESPN Research.

LSU's 109-point margin of victory surpassed Baylor's 140-32 rout over Winthrop on Dec. 15, 2016. That Baylor team was led by current LSU coach Kim Mulkey.

The Lady Tigers went on a 50-0 run during the second and third quarters Thursday, the largest by any team against a Division I opponent since Mulkey took over LSU in 2021-22, according to ESPN Research.

Part of LSU's 50-0 run included a 40-0 stretch in the second quarter, the second-largest shutout quarter since Division I switched to quarters in 2015-16. It trails a 44-0 quarter by Texas Southern in 2024.

Jada Williams, a transfer from Iowa State, scored 18 points and was among a group of seven players who scored in double figures. Freshman Anna Minaeva scored 21 points, Mikaylah Williams added 20 points, ZaKiyah Johnson 17, Grace Knox and MiLaysia Fulwiley contributed 15 each and Lola Lampley finished with 10.

Jada Williams was scoreless in the first quarter but made 6 of 7 shots, including three 3-pointers, in eight minutes of the second quarter. Fulwiley and Knox added six apiece.

Jayla Cornelius' six points led Texas Southern (0-2), which shot 13% (8 of 55) and turned the ball over 38 times, enabling LSU to outscore TSU 55-0 in points off turnovers.

LSU presented flowers to former All-American Angel Reese, who helped the Lady Tigers to their first national championship in 2022. Reese was this year's WNBA Defensive Player of the Year and was part of the Atlanta Dream's first appearance in the WNBA championship series.
