Hunter's 21 & 10 lead No. 13 NC State women past OD 85-56
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Grace Hunter had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Aislinn Konig hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points and No. 13 North Carolina State rolled to an 85-67 win over Old Dominion on Sunday.
Reserve Armaini Hawkins matched Konig, who went 4 of 5 from distance to run her consecutive game streak with a trey to 41. The Wolfpack (8-0) is off to their best start since opening 14-0 in 1999-00.
N.C. State shot 53 percent in the second quarter, outscoring the Monarchs 24-10 to take a 38-22 lead. The third quarter was even more impressive as the Wolfpack went 12 of 20 from the field, 6 of 10 from the 3-point line. A 13-0 run and 14-2 run made the score 70-33.
Old Dominion (5-2) was led by Maggie Robinson with 17 points. The Monarchs shot 29 percent, going 4 of 17 from 3-point range, and were 6 of 17 from the line.
