McWilliams has 19, No. 16 Oregon State women drop Cal 68-48
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Katie McWilliams scored 14 of her season-high 19 in the first quarter and No. 16 Oregon State rolled to a 68-48 win over No. 25 California on Sunday.
Marie Gulich had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Beavers (17-6, 8-4 Pac-12 Conference), who have won seven straight in the series after a 15-game losing streak. Mikayla Pivec had 13 rebounds as Oregon State grabbed 17 offensive boards and had a 46-28 overall advantage.
Kristine Anigwe had 13 points for the Golden Bears (15-8, 6-6), who lost their third straight, all against ranked teams to fall to 0-8 against the Top 25 this year. Anigwe, who surpassed 1,700 points in a loss at Oregon on Friday, topped 800 rebounds, the fourth active player with those milestones.
With McWilliams' hot start the Beavers bolted to a 20-10 lead after one quarter and were up 36-17 at the half.
