Murray, Epps lead No. 20 Kentucky women past Morehead St.
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Taylor Murray had 18 points and eight rebounds, Makayla Epps added 18 points and nine assists and the No. 20 Kentucky women held Morehead State without a field goal for more than 15 minutes in the Wildcats' 74-47 win Wednesday night.
Maci Morris scored 14 points and Evelyn Akhator had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Kentucky (4-1) led by three at the end of the first quarter, but used a 25-7 run to open a 45-24 lead with 3 minutes left in the third.
Morehead State (3-2) scored two points in the second quarter, setting the school record for fewest points in a quarter. Miranda Crockett hit a jumper with 7:30 left in the half and the Eagles went scoreless for the next 8 minutes, 56 seconds and didn't make another field goal until a jumper by Brianna McQueen with 2:26 left in the third quarter.
The Eagles shot 23 percent (13 of 57) and were held to their fewest points since a 45-43 win over Jacksonville State on Feb. 17, 2014.
McQueen led Morehead State with 14 points on 4-of-17 shooting and was the only Eagles player with more than two field goals.
