NC State women beat Boston College 76-60 in ACC Tournament
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Miah Spencer scored 17 points, Jennifer Mathurin added 15 and North Carolina State built a big first quarter lead and cruised to a 76-60 victory over Boston College on Thursday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.
The sixth-seeded Wolfpack (20-10) face No. 3 seed Syracuse in a quarterfinal game on Friday.
Spencer was 6 of 7 from the floor, and Mathurin made four 3-pointers on 5-of-10 shooting overall. Dominique Wilson chipped in 14 points.
Nicole Boudreau scored 16 points and Kelly Hughes added 14 to lead No. 14 Boston College (15-16), which has lost 11 of its last 13 games.
North Carolina State jumped out to a 16-3 lead with 4:40 left in the first half, and built a 43-18 halftime lead. The Eagles pulled to 71-60 on Boudreau's 3-pointer with 1:14 left, but did not get closer.
