TAMPA, Fla. -- Alisia Jenkins had 16 points and 21 rebounds and No. 20 South Florida beat Drexel 73-58 in the second round of the preseason WNIT on Sunday.
Courtney Williams, a preseason All-American Honorable Mention, scored 26 points on 11-of-24 shooting and had four assists. Laura Ferreira added 11 for the Bulls (2-0).
Rachel Pearson and Sarah Curran had 15 points apiece to lead Drexel (1-1). Alexis Smith added 12 points.
The Dragons closed on a 10-4 surge to pull to 39-35 at halftime. The Bulls answered with a 14-5 run and lead 53-40 midway through the third quarter.
Jessica Pellechio made a layup to pull the Dragons to 62-58 with seven minutes left, but the Bulls closed on an 11-0 run to seal it.
It was the first meeting between the schools.
