Balance leads No. 11 Oregon State women past Oregon 59-45
EUGENE, Ore. -- Ruth Hamblin and Gabriella Hanson scored 12 points apiece, Jamie Weisner added 11 and No. 11 Oregon State defeated Oregon 59-45 on Sunday.
The Beavers (12-3, 3-1 Pac 12) defeated the Ducks (11-4, 0-4) 60-33 on Friday and have won 11 straight in the rivalry.
Oregon State scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 31-25 lead then used 5 of 6 free throws and a Weisner jumper to lead 38-29.
Four different players scored, with Weisner hitting a 3, for a 9-0 run opening the fourth quarter that made it 47-31. The lead peaked at 20 on Hanson's 3 with 3:46 left.
Oregon State shot 54.5 percent (12 for 22) in the second half while Oregon shot 27 percent (7 of 26).
Liz Brenner led Oregon with 13 points.
A game after ending Jillian Alleyne's 29-game streak of double-doubles, the Beavers held her to six points, ending her 30-game double-figure scoring streak.
