No. 14 Louisville women beat Syracuse 71-53
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Myisha Hines-Allen scored a career-high 27 points with 10 rebounds and No. 14 Louisville beat Syracuse 71-53 on Monday night for its 12th straight victory.
It was Hines-Allen's sixth career double-double.
Louisville jumped out to a 22-6 lead after the first quarter by closing on a 12-2 run. The Cardinals opened the second quarter on a 15-2 run before Syracuse hit its first field goal of the period at the 2:25 mark. Asia Durr scored 13 of her 16 points in the first half as Louisville held a 39-20 lead.
Briahanna Jackson added 11 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Louisville (15-5, 7-0 ACC). The Cardinals turned it over 28 times but held a 48-37 rebounding edge.
Alexis Peterson had 13 points and six assists for Syracuse (14-6, 4-3), which was held to 17-of-66 shooting (29 percent) and was just 14 of 26 at the stripe.
