Podkowa helps No. 18 DePaul women top No. 15 Texas A&M 80-66
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Megan Podkowa had 20 points and a career-high 18 rebounds, Jessica January scored 11 and recorded a career-high 13 assists, and No. 18 DePaul grabbed its most rebounds in a game since 2011 in an 80-66 win over No. 15 Texas A&M on Saturday.
Podkowa had 10 of DePaul's 27 offensive rebounds, the most by the Blue Demons (7-3) since 2007. They outrebounded A&M (7-3) 52-36.
DePaul jumped out to a 12-4 lead, but the Aggies used a 9-0 run to take a brief lead in the second quarter. The Blue Demons led 34-33 at halftime, and after an A&M free throw tied it at 34-all, two quick buckets from Chanise Jenkins put DePaul ahead for good.
Jenkins had 15 points and five assists, contributing to the team's 29 assists on 32 field goals. DePaul came into the game ranked No. 2 in assists per game with 22.2.
Courtney Walker had 14 points and six assists for A&M, and Chelsea Jennings added 13 points.
