No. 14 Florida State women beat Sam Houston State 94-37
NEW YORK -- Brittany Brown scored 22 of her career-high tying 24 points in the first half and No. 14 Florida State beat Sam Houston State 94-37 on Saturday in the LIU Turkey Classic for the Seminoles' sixth-largest margin of victory.
Brown added six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Adut Bulgak had 19 points, seven rebounds and four blocks for Florida State (5-1). Ivey Slaughter and Leticia Romero each had five of Florida State's 22 steals and Romero added 10 points and 10 assists.
Brown scored 22 points in the first half on 8-of-10 shooting as Florida State jumped out to a 51-18 lead. The Seminoles shot 59 percent (20 of 34) from the field, and forced Sam Houston State into 17 turnovers and 32 percent shooting.
Florida State held Sam Houston State to without a field goal in the third quarter, outscoring the Bearkats 22-4.
