No. 14 Florida State women trounce North Florida 80-28
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Adut Bulgak scored 19 points with seven rebounds and Shakayla Thomas finished with 14 points, nine boards and four assists to help No. 14 Florida State women beat North Florida 80-28 Tuesday.
Brittany Brown added 11 points and five assists for Florida State (3-1) while Ivey Slaughter had 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Florida State outscored North Florida 29-5 in the first quarter and held the Ospreys to just 12 first-half points, the fewest the Seminoles have allowed in a half since limiting Prairie View A&M to 10 on Nov. 17, 2013.
North Florida made just 5 of 25 field goals, including 1 of 12 from 3-point range, and committed 10 turnovers in the first half.
Florida State recorded 14 assists on 17 first-half field goals while shooting 55 percent before the break.
Hadley Kiefer led North Florida (1-4) with eight points.
