No. 20 Oklahoma St. women smother No. 24 West Virginia 63-51
STILLWATER, Okla. -- Kaylee Jensen scored 18 points and No. 20 Oklahoma State used its defense to set the tone early for a 63-51 win over No. 24 West Virginia on Saturday night.
Jensen had 12 in the first half when the Cowgirls held the Mountaineers, who average 71.2 points a game, to 14 points and opened an 18-point lead.
Mandy Coleman had 11 points, Sydney Walton 10 and Brittney Martin had 17 rebounds to go with her eight points for Oklahoma State (19-5, 9-4 Big 12), which beat its fourth ranked team this season.
Tynice Martin had 13 points for the Mountaineers (19-7, 8-5), who had their lowest-scoring half and lowest-scoring game this season while having their three-game winning streak end.
Both teams struggled with their shooting, combining to make 5 of 32 from 3-point range, but West Virginia had 21 turnovers and Oklahoma State had a 24-11 advantage on second-chance points.
