Walkers leads No. 12 Texas A&M women past TCU 82-78
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Courtney Walker scored 23 points and Jordan Jones and Courtney Williams added 17 points apiece as No. 12 Texas A&M controlled the last few minutes to edge TCU 82-78 on Saturday.
TCU (3-1), off to its best start in four seasons, led for much of the game. It was 43-37 at halftime and 8 points early in the fourth quarter when Walker, who also had eight rebounds, scored 5 points in a 9-0 run to put the Aggies (4-0) up 68-67 with 5:36 to play.
A layup by AJ Alix put the Horned Frogs up 74-70 with four minutes to go but Walker scored the last 4 of a 6-point burst. TCU tied it with free throws but the Aggies, who made their last six shots, pulled it out.
A&M shot 51 percent and Jones had nine assists.
Alix was 9 of 11 from the field, 6 of 7 behind the arc for a career-high 24 points.
