Makayla Epps comes through late as Kentucky edges Arizona State in OT

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Makayla Epps drained a jump shot off a spin move and hit a pair of clutch free throws in the final 36 seconds of overtime to lift No. 18 Kentucky over No. 15 Arizona State 68-64 on Sunday.

Janee Thompson added 11 points and Batouly Camara 10 for the Wildcats (2-0).

Sophie Brunner led Arizona State (0-1) with 19 points, including three 3-pointers.

Epps was 8-of-10 from the foul line and sent the game into overtime with a pair of free throws with seven seconds left in regulation.

Arizona State trailed Kentucky 12-10 after a quarter but erupted for 19 points in the second to hold a 29-17 halftime lead.
