No. 15 Duke women roll over Texas State 85-34 in Cancun
CANCUN, Mexico -- Azura Stevens scored 19 points and No. 15 Duke dominated Texas State 85-34 at the Cancun Challenge on Saturday.
Haley Gorecki hit all four of her shots, including three 3-pointers, and added 11 for the Blue Devils (6-1), who are 10-0 in four trips to tournaments in Cancun.
Duke shot 59 percent from the field despite going 4 of 13 from 3-point range and made 13 of 18 free throws.
The first quarter ended with Duke on a 20-2 run for a 27-7 lead and had an 18-0 run in the second quarter.
The Blue Devils outrebounded the Bobcats (2-4) 45-26 and forced 21 turnovers. Texas State shot 21 percent, 15 percent in the first half when the Bobcats made just 4 of 26 shots and had 17 turnovers in falling behind 49-11.
Toshua Leavitt made three treys for nine points to lead Texas State.
