ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Tabatha Richardson-Smith had 31 points and 11 rebounds and No. 25 Seton Hall women beat No. 8 seed Marquette 77-51 on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the Big East Conference tournament.
Top-seeded Seton Hall advances to its first conference tournament semifinal game since 1996.
Daisha Simmons added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Seton Hall (27-4, 16-3). Ka-Deidre Simmons had 12 points with eight assists. The Pirates grabbed 50 rebounds and forced 22 turnovers.
Seton Hall went on a 23-6 run to end the first half for a 40-23 lead. Richardson-Smith had 20 points and the Pirates held the Golden Eagles to 32 percent shooting.
Arlesia Morse led Marquette (9-22, 4-15) with 24 points and eight rebounds. Kenisha Bell added 14 points. The Golden Eagles were held to 18-of-62 shooting (29 percent), including 4 of 23 from distance.
Morse ended her career with 1,577 points, which ranks ninth all-time in school history.
