No. 16 Princeton beats Harvard, remains only undefeated in women's D-I
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Blake Dietrick had 23 points, eight assists and five rebounds as the No. 16 Princeton women beat Harvard 78-57 to remain the only undefeated team in women's Division I basketball.
Annie Tarakchian added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Tigers (25-0, 9-0 Ivy), who moved within one win of the program record for most in a season (26 in 2009-10).
After Harvard (10-14, 3-7) scored the first four points of the second half to pull within five, Princeton answered with a 12-4 run and steadily pulled away. The Tigers had their largest lead of 23 points just before Harvard capped the scoring with a pair of free throws.
Princeton opened the game 4 of 20 from the field while Harvard took a 15-9 lead with 8:54 to go. The Tigers closed the first half on a 19-4 run.
AnnMarie Healy and Temi Fagbenle led the Crimson with 18 points each.
