No. 14 Texas A&M women hold off Missouri 55-48
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Courtney Walker scored 17 points to lead No. 14 Texas A&M over Missouri 55-48 on Thursday.
The teams combined for just 12 points through the first six minutes of the game. Texas A&M (18-5, 6-3 SEC) went on an 8-2 run -- with six from Walker -- and led 28-21 at the break.
Missouri trimmed the deficit to three with 2:28 left on Juanita Robinson's jumper as the Aggies went over six minutes without a bucket. But Walker responded with a jumper, and Jordan Jones followed with a layup to push the lead back to seven with 1:15 left.
Walker was 8 of 18 from the floor and the Aggies were 0 of 3 from beyond the arc. Jones finished with 10 points.
Missouri (12-11, 2-8 SEC) was led by Jordan Frericks with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Maddie Stock had 12 points and Morgan Eye added 11.
