LAS VEGAS -- Kendra Grant scored 14 points and No. 21 Mississippi State trounced Illinois-Chicago 73-36 in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic on Saturday.
Victoria Vivians had 12 points overall and Dominique Dillingham had all 10 of her points in the first half as Mississippi State (13-0) had little trouble generating or making shots against UIC. A 10-1 run to close the half pushed the lead to 21 at 39-18. The Flames were just 5 of 20 before intermission, missing all three 3-point attempts, and finished with just 10 field goals in the game.
The Bulldogs domination extended into the second half as they outscored UIC 34-18 after intermission. MSU had 14 players receive at least 6 minutes of playing time and 12 of the 14 scored.
Ruvanna Campbell led Illinois-Chicago (8-2) with 13 points.
