No. 13 Kentucky snaps 3-game skid with narrow win over Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Bria Goss scored 11 points and forced a key turnover late to help No. 13 Kentucky hold on to beat Arkansas 56-51 on Thursday night and snap its three-game losing skid.
Kentucky (20-8, 9-6 Southeastern Conference) has reached the 20-win plateau for a school record sixth-straight season, and secured a first-round bye in the SEC tournament. Arkansas (16-11, 6-9) is tied with Missouri for eighth in the conference, and ends its regular season against the Tigers on Sunday.
The Razorbacks used a 10-0 run to get within 52-51 with 1:41 remaining.
Alexis Jennings answered with a layup, and blocked a shot with 1:00 left. Kentucky's Linnae Harper then missed the front end of a 1-and-1, and Arkansas' Melissa Wolff grabbed the carom to give the Razorbacks another opportunity.
But Goss forced a turnover and ran the length of the court for a layup to end it.
