No. 13 Kentucky women hold off Cent Michigan 71-68
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Jennifer O'Neill scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers, as No. 13 Kentucky women held on for a 71-68 win over Central Michigan on Saturday night.
Kentucky (4-0) took a 47-28 advantage into the break but shot just 36.5 percent from floor overall and barely held off a Central Michigan rally in the second half to seal the win. O'Neill's five treys tied her single-game career best, but Kentucky shot just 8 of 28 from long range.
Makayla Epps contributed 12 points, Linnae Harper had 10 and Azia Bishop snagged 11 rebounds for the Wildcats, which have opened the season with four straight wins for the fourth time in five seasons.
Central Michigan (1-1) was led by Jessica Green, who had 16 points, while Lorreal Jones added 12 and Jas'Mine Bracey had nine points and 10 rebounds.
