No. 25 Syracuse pulls away from Boston College, 64-46
BOSTON -- Reserves Taylor Ford and Diamond Henderson combined for 24 points in the second half as No. 25 Syracuse pulled away from Boston College 64-46 on Sunday.
Ford finished with 15 points and Henderson 13 for the Orange (13-5, 3-2 ACC), with Alexis Peterson adding 11 with six assists and Bria Day grabbing 11 rebounds.
After a tight first half that ended with Syracuse ahead 24-22, an early 7-0 burst fueled by Peterson put the Orange up for good. Peterson assisted on Henderson's tie-breaking jumper, made a layup and set up Ford for a three-point play at 16:30. Brianna Butler's 3-pointer off a Peterson assist at 13:40 capped a 9-0 run that made it 42-29.
Kelly Hughes, the leading scorer for Boston College (8-10, 0-5) at 15 points a game, was held to three. Emilee Daley and Ashley Kelsick had 11 each. The Eagles shot 29 percent and had 23 turnovers.
