TUCSON, Ariz. -- Katie Hempen and Promise Amukamara scored 16 points apiece and No. 18 Arizona State beat Arizona 88-41 on Thursday night.
With the victory the Sun Devils (14-1, 3-0 Pac-12), matched the program's best start. Arizona State also was 14-1 to start the 1982-83 season.
Sophie Brunner and Kelsey Moos added 10 points each for Arizona State, which made 36 of 61 shots for 59 percent, including 7 of 15 from 3-point range. The Sun Devils outrebounded the Wildcats 45-32.
Arizona State took a 44-14 lead at halftime after holding Arizona (7-7, 0-3) to 6-of 32 shooting (18.8 percent). The Sun Devils had their largest lead of 48 points with three minutes left in the game.
