No. 13 West Virginia stymies No. 12 Oklahoma State again
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Bria Holmes scored 20 points and Christal Caldwell added 15 as 13th-ranked West Virginia throttled No. 12 Oklahoma State 77-45, holding the Cowgirls to 25 percent shooting Wednesday night.
The Mountaineers (23-3, 12-2 Big 12) raced out 14-0 and were never threatened, leading by 18 at halftime and adding an 8-0 run to start the second half on a Caldwell jumper.
Oklahoma State (20-5, 9-5) was led by Tiffany Bias, who scored 10 points on 4-for-13 shooting. As a team, the Cowgirls connected on just 16 of 62 shots and were an even colder 1-of-18 on 3-pointers for a season-low 45 points.
The Mountaineers, who handed Oklahoma State its first loss of the season 71-67 in Stillwater on Jan. 4, harried the Cowgirls into 17 turnovers.
Asya Bussie added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers with Taylor Palmer adding 10 points and four assists.
