Jasmine Hassell, Tiaria Griffin lead Georgia past Alabama
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Jasmine Hassell scored 21 points and Tiaria Griffin contributed 20 as No. 13 Georgia cruised to a 95-83 victory over Alabama in a Southeastern Conference matchup on Thursday night.
Jasmine James chipped in 15 points, Shacobia Barbee 14 and Khaalidah Miller 13 for the Bulldogs (14-2, 2-1), who have won 22 in a row against Alabama.
Daisha Simmons had 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds for the Crimson Tide (10-6, 0-3). Kaneisha Horn scored 17 points and Shafontaye Myers and Jasmine Robinson had 14 each.
Georgia won the rebound battle 42-31, and the Bulldogs shot 56.3 percent from the field (36 of 64) to Alabama's 47.8 percent (33 of 69). The Bulldogs made 18 of 24 from the foul line to the Crimson Tide's 8 of 14.
Georgia led 42-37 at the break but stretched the advantage to 81-62 on Miller's basket with 7:04 left.
