Cheryl Reeve was named WNBA Coach of the Year for the fifth time, extending her own league record, after guiding the Minnesota Lynx to a 33-11 record and the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs.
Reeve, in her 17th season as Minnesota's coach, beat out the Golden State Valkyries' Natalie Nakase and Washington Mystics' Sydney Johnson for the award announced Monday.
The Lynx finished a game ahead of the 32-12 Valkyries despite losing star forward Napheesa Collier for the first half of the season as she recovered from offseason surgery on both ankles.
Reeve, who is also president of basketball operations for the club, previously won the award in 2011, 2016, 2020 and 2024. She guided the Lynx to WNBA titles in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
Reeve received 40 of 74 votes from media panel. Nakase, who won the award last year, finished second with 20 votes. Johnson was third with 14 votes.
