QUEEN'S CLUB, London - As Andy Murray sat down for his post-match press conference, a giant jeroboam of champagne was placed on the table next to his newly-retained Aegon Championship trophy.
Murray famously admitted to brushing his teeth with face cream the night he won Wimbledon nearly three years ago, the normally teetotal Scot having allowed himself a couple of glasses of the fizzy stuff.
But despite making history at Queen's by winning a record fifth title with a battling victory over Milos Raonic, he is putting the champagne on ice.
"I'll take it home, and hopefully have something to celebrate in a few weeks," he said. "Keep it for after Wimbledon."
The victory marked a successful start to his second spell under Ivan Lendl, with whom he announced a shock reunion on the eve of this tournament.
Murray spoke with Lendl after the match about his preparations for Wimbledon, as the world No.2 plots an assault on the title he won under the Czech's stewardship in 2013.
"It's [about] not concentrating too much on the win today," he said. "It's like, 'OK, great, now what do we do tomorrow?'
"He [Lendl] was definitely happy with this week because of the way I fought, the way that I played in the big moments and the preparation, getting five matches when I had zero preparation for this event. It's turned out to be a great week.
"I've enjoyed having him back with the team. Next week is good, we get to spend four or five days on the court working together, working hard, trying to get better before Wimbledon starts.
"This week, I'm able to make adjustments during the matches, but if there's something that's not going as I would like, you don't really have time to work on those things."
The world No.2 revealed he will take a couple of days off from practising to rest next week, and will spend some time with his family, walk the dogs -- just do "normal stuff" as he puts it. He was also looking forward to getting home for his first Father's Day, his daughter Sophia having been born in February.
"I don't know if my wife has planned something or not. Could be a surprise," he added. "I'm happy just to spend a night at home. I got to see my daughter a little bit before the match this morning, and afterwards.
"That was nice to spend a little bit of time with her, because even though I'm at home now, I left the house this morning at 8:30, don't get back until 7:30. So I only get to see her for 20, 30 minutes a day."
