Paris Saint-Germain confirmed on Tuesday that winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has undergone surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament and will now start a lengthy period of rehabilitation.
Georgia captain Kvaratskhelia suffered the serious knee injury during PSG's 4-2 Champions League win over Barcelona on Oct. 20.

Kvaratskhelia received extensive treatment early in the second half at Parc des Princes following a challenge with Xavi Espart before being helped off by medical staff.
A club statement from PGS read: "Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has successfully undergone surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee at ASPETAR Hospital in Doha, Qatar. He will now begin his rehabilitation."
The 25-year-old is now set for a long spell of recovery, which adds to PSG's selection problem with France forward Ousmane Dembélé and captain Marquinhos both out because of thigh injuries.
Kvaratskhelia has been a key player for PSG over the last few years and has helped the club to back-to-back Champions League titles.
PSG coach Luis Enrique has suggested that the club would not enter the transfer market to replace Kvaratskhelia.
"No injury means that we absolutely must sign a new player," he said. "Since the start of the season, I've always said that we could cope with any injuries."
Ahead of kickoff at PSG's home Ligue 1 game against Lyon on Monday night, fans had unfurled a huge banner along the Auteuil Stand with the words "Kvara, the red and blue people are with you" in support of the Georgia winger.
PSG beat Lyon 2-0 on Monday and sit top of Ligue 1 in France.
