Real Madrid will have representation at the Ballon d'Or award again, with Kylian Mbappé leading the team's delegation at the event on Monday in London, sources have told ESPN.
Madrid boycotted the last two editions of the event after being angry that then-Manchester City midfielder Rodri picked up the 2024 men's award ahead of Vinícius Júnior.
However, the club did allow last year for Caroline Weir to attend the event after she was nominated for the Ballon d'Or Féminin.
Mbappé is among the nominees for the Ballon d'Or following standout performances for club and country. Sources have told ESPN that Madrid's delegation have travelled to London hopeful that Mbappé can clinch his first Ballon d'Or.
The France forward was top scorer at the 2026 World Cup, as well as in the Champions League and LaLiga. He is set to compete with Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Barcelona's Lamine Yamal.
Madrid's Marc Cucurella is also nominated for the prestigious award and will be in attendance. The left-back joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in August after helping Spain win the World Cup. Real Madrid's record signing this summer, Yan Diomande, will also attend the gala, with the teenage winger nominated for the Kopa Trophy.

Diomande's transfer was for a fee worth up to €140 million. The Kopa Trophy is handed to the best young performing player in the world under the age of 21.
Sweden's teenage forward Felicia Schröder, who became the most expensive transfer of all time in women's football when she joined Real Madrid from Swedish club BK Hacken for €1.5 million, will also travel to London. Schröder, 19, is nominated for the women's Kopa Trophy.
Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueño will accompany the players at the gala.
