Kylian Mbappé scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid to give his side a dramatic 2-1 Clásico win over Barcelona on Sunday.
The record goal from Mbappé came in the 87th minute of the game to give Madrid a priceless lead after Eduardo Camavinga laid off to him in the box for the Frenchman to tuck home into an empty net.
It came after his first of the game, which was a rather fortuitous strike in the first half. A Gerard Martín attempted clearance was hit straight at Mbappé, who then finished past Joan García to give Madrid the lead.
Raphinha had equalized for Barça in the second half, but Mbappé's late strike secured all three points for Madrid and put them just three points behind their rivals at the top of LaLiga. It also handed Barça their first league defeat of the season.
"The star of the game was the team, the group. We knew it had to be a team game," Mbappé said after the game. "Today we gave everything we had. We had difficult moments in the game, and moments where we dominated. Winning and being in the title race is important. We have to keep going. It's a great game but it's only three points."
Mbappé's match-winning brace comes a day before the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony, an award for which the Madrid superstar is very much in the running.
Mbappé is the 24th player to reach a century of goals for Spain's most successful club and the fourth fastest to do so, joining the likes of Alfredo di Stéfano, Raúl and Cristiano Ronaldo, who sits top of the rankings with 450 goals in 438 matches.
Despite being LaLiga's top scorer in both of his full seasons at the club, Mbappé is yet to win any trophies with Madrid, having lost out on the LaLiga title to Barcelona in both 2024-25 and 2025-26.

"Everyone knows I like to score goals, to help the team. But today, the most important thing was the team's win," Mbappé added. "If we want to do things this year, we have to be a group. The quality is here. With the players here, anyone who says the quality isn't here is a liar. But we have to work as a team, that's how we'll achieve the things we want to."
The Frenchman joined Madrid on a free transfer in June 2024 after scoring 256 goals in 308 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain and 27 in 60 for AS Monaco.
The 27-year-old also became France's all-time leading scorer, as well as the top scorer in World Cup history, this summer.
