Bradley Barcola scored a hat-trick as Liverpool demolished LASK 6-3 in a Champions League thriller in Austria.

Andoni Iraola's men were soundly beaten by Manchester City at the weekend but they bounced back in style in Linz and their Frenchman led the way.

Here is how the action unfurled through the eyes of ESPN.

Liverpool took the lead through Ronald Aruajo after 22 minutes and from then on the goals kept on coming.

Barcola scored in the 24th minute and again in the 37th to give the away side a big 3-0 lead at half-time.

The goals continued in the second half though, with Jeremie Frimpong heading in Liverpool's fourth, from captain Kostas Tsimikas' second assist of the night.

It was LASK who scored next, through Robert Ljubicic but that only seemed to spur Liverpool on.

Barcola sealed his hat-trick at the back post to put them 5-1 up before Lewis Koumas, who had twice been caught offside, finished off a sixth for his side.

Then the Austrian champions found their groove, with Liverpool's changes having a detrimental effect on their defence.

LASK substitute Florian Flecker took two chances brilliantly but there was not to be a 10th goal that evening and they proved to be in vain.

The win lifted Liverpool into third temporarily in the Champions League league phase table, whereas LASK dropped down to 34th.
