England will face off against Ukraine for a spot in the 2027 Women's World Cup at Wembley on Dec. 5.

In the final World Cup playoff round, the Lionesses will take on Ukraine over two legs. The first leg will be away from home -- with Ukraine currently unable to play in their own country since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022 -- and the second will take place at Wembley.

England memorably won Euro 2022 at Wembley -- bringing home the first trophy for either the England women's or men's team for the first time since 1966.

They return to the famous ground in a huge match, in which the winner will secure their place in next year's World Cup in Brazil.

England reached the final playoff round with an aggregate 8-1 victory over Greece over two legs -- starting with a 3-1 win in Crete on Friday, followed up by a 5-0 rout at Leicester's King Power Stadium on Tuesday.

"We know what the opportunity is and we are looking forward to the challenge ahead. After a successful window just gone we now have some time and our focus is on being fully prepared against a team that did well in their own playoff," England head coach Sarina Wiegman said.

"We have played Ukraine recently and know the qualities they have and the threat they can pose. First we need to approach the first leg in the best possible way but to play at Wembley Stadium in front of our fans for a place at the World Cup is a big moment.

"The stadium is special to us and we have shared many memorable moments there with our supporters. We know how much their backing means to the team and the role they can play in helping us achieve our objective."

Last time England met Ukraine, they ran out resounding victors with a 6-1 win in Türkiye.

The Lionesses will be hoping for more of the same come Dec. 5.
