LEICESTER -- Sarina Wiegman hailed a "dominant" performance from England as they eased past Greece 5-0 in Leicester on Tuesday to go through to the next stage of the World Cup playoffs 8-1 on aggregate.
After a disjointed 3-1 win over Greece in Crete last Friday, England were far more clinical a few days later back on home turf.
England were 4-0 up at half time with Alessia Russo and Georgia Stanway both scoring, alongside a brace from Lauren James.
Russo added another in the 75th minute while the Lionesses also had two goals disallowed.
It was a commanding performance from Wiegman's side as they booked a playoff clash against Ukraine.
"We played a lot better -- we dominated the game," Wiegman said. "They pressed high again and as soon as we got in behind, we scored our goal and that helped. We were really good in the final third and scored some great goals."
But Wiegman wants to see improvements ahead of the doubleheader with Ukraine.
"We have seen [Ukraine] now," Wiegman said. "We see what they do, how can we take out their strengths and show their weaknesses. We want to improve our style of play again, we expect to be on the ball a lot, we'll be in their final third a lot. So we continue what we tried today. Of course you want to improve defending too. I do expect from the team, with the quality we have compared to Ukraine, that we have that we'll be in the final third a lot."
Wiegman took James off at half time but said it was just a case of managing her minutes.
"She was really enjoying herself," Wiegman said. "She scored some great goals -- she looked really fresh and played well."
Wiegman handed a debut to Lexi Potter and also gave Freya Godfrey her first cap as a second-half substitute. With Potter, Wiegman was delighted with how she slotted into England's system.

"You could see there were some nerves," Wiegman added. "That's completely normal. She's done so well with Chelsea. Last year we kept an eye on her already. Now she started for Chelsea, did really well, in our camp she did really well straight away. Of course, your first start for England that's a big moment. you can tell, with the positions she picked up, she scored the goal that was disallowed but it was nice for her."
Potter said on ITV: "It was really special and I'm really proud. It was a bit of a rush before the game and I lost my phone so I was a bit nervous. But once I got on the pitch I really enjoyed it.
"When you're a young girl it's something you dream of and it's a really special moment, one I will always remember.
"The game was OK. I feel there's more to come. It took a while to grow into the game but there's more to come."
