Sir Alex Ferguson has said that the second leg of the 1999 Champions League semifinal against Juventus was Roy Keane's finest game for Manchester United.
United were two goals down early in that game but Keane helped to inspire them to a famous comeback that sent them into the final that season.
They went on to win the Champions League after beating Bayern Munich in the final.
Keane scored against Juventus to make it 2-1, before goals from Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole completed the turnaround.
In an interview with United club media, former head coach Ferguson said that Keane inspired the whole team that night.
"They [Juventus] had beaten us three times in the group stage before that. They were the top team in Europe at the time. Great management, great players," he said.
"In the semifinal at the Delle Alpi stadium, they scored two [goals] in the first fifteen minutes. A nightmare.
"You know, sometimes, you need one player to inspire the rest.
"I would say that Keane inspired Man United that day. He got the first goal, a header from a corner kick ...I'm sure that he will look back and say that was his finest game for Manchester United.
"But on top of that, he got booked -- him and Paul Scholes got booked and it meant they couldn't play in the final. But it didn't deter him. He carried his role at very well and I would say that was his moment at Manchester United."
