Arsenal defender Steph Catley has said that the team are aware that something isn't quite clicking in the final third during matches, as they laboured past HB Køge in their first UEFA Women's Champions League match of the season.
It took a stoppage-time penalty from Mariona Caldentey for the Gunners to beat the Danish side after they wasted a number of chances to go ahead throughout the match.
Speaking to ESPN on Disney+, Catley said that the team left it late and praised Køge's defending.
"It's the Champions League -- every single game you play is difficult, there are no easy games. They defended great, we tried so many different avenues for goal and it didn't happen until right at the end," she said.
"I think the subs coming on made a massive impact and we got the job done. That's all that matters."
Arsenal thought they had taken the lead in the 12th minute through a Chloe Kelly goal but that was chalked off after it was determined Stina Blackstenius had been offside in the build-up.
"When we got the breakthrough early, I thought we're on it here and we might kick on a bit. But it wasn't to be that early and then it became really difficult. But credit to the girls, kept trying everything, tried to find ways through and score goals and then Mariona was very calm in that moment and scored," she said.
Catley said that things have been a bit of a "slog" recently in front of goal for Arsenal, who have only scored two goals in their first three Women's Super League goals this season -- and who have drawn twice and won once in those matches.
"It's hard to put your finger on it. I think it is a bit of a slog at the moment and the goals aren't coming as freely as maybe they have in the past.
"It's not lack of trying, it's not lack of trying and working hard. We're absolutely doing everything we can to put the ball in the back of the net, that's all we aim to do.
"We're just trying to get all the other phases of the game right, set our strikers up to do what they do best and to give them the confidence to do that.
"Sometimes it doesn't go in and it doesn't feel easy but we're working hard every single day to try and fix the things we need to fix, to get on top of that and hopefully start scoring goals," she said.
Gunners head coach Renee Slegers shared the same feeling and said that she wants the team's football to "click and flow" better.
"This is something we're going through as a team right now but the mentality is positive and we're gonna bring that into the season," she said.
"It's about calmness and setting up good situations with intensity. Of course, we're going to look at it but we also don't want to over-analyse or overthink."

When asked about Caldentey's penalty, Slegers spoke positively about the Spain international.
"She's done it so many times, she's taken penalties under pressure in big moments and she's done it for us today. So, really happy ...It's a squad game, we start and we finish and everyone has their impact and I'm just really happy for the team that we got the three points," she said.
Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the WSL, followed by a UWCL clash against Paris FC in the French capital.
