British Prime Minister Andy Burnham enjoyed Everton's Carabao Cup victory over Wolves on Wednesday with Canadian counterpart and fellow Toffees fan Mark Carney.
Burnham, a lifelong Everton supporter, was accompanied at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool by Carney as the pair also held a bilateral meeting at the venue.
Earlier this week, Canada were invited to be the European Union's first-ever "associate member" by European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen while Carney said he wanted a "unique alliance" with the EU.
Wolves fought hard in the third-round clash before Charly Alcaraz scored in the 80th minute to set Everton up with a fourth-round tie against Newcastle United.
Former Everton legend Tim Cahill also watched the action with the two Prime Ministers, sharing a post on Instagram of himself and Burnham.
"Great to see my dear friend Andy Burnham PM at Hill Dickinson tonight, and also Canadian PM Mark Carney another Blue!" the Australian said.
"Two Prime Ministers and both Evertonians. Doesn't get much better than that. Great company, a good chat and a brilliant night watching the Blues."
Prior to the match, a tribute was shown to Burnham's dad, Roy, who died earlier this week.
"RIP Roy Burnham. Lifelong, diehard blue, much loved by Eileen, Nick, Andy, John and all the family," a message on the stadium's big screen said.
